Students at San Ysidro High School in the Sweetwater High School District have their eyes on the future. Their engagement with the school’s Medical Pathways Program has provided them a unique and innovative opportunity to explore a career in the health industry. In 2012, the Classroom of the Future Foundation recognized the Medical Pathways program with a $10,000.00 Impact Award for the program that embodies the inspiration of students, while demonstrating innovative learning and results in higher student achievement.

The Medical Pathways program is a comprehensive, four-year program of study that incorporates rigorous, college prep science courses into a structured “path” for student interested in the Health Care industry. The program also creates partnerships with universities, hospitals and community clinics that provide students with real-world experiences in the health field.
